Acceptable use policy
What you must not do with Escanor: unauthorised access, malware, abuse and unlawful content, what happens if you do, and how to report misuse.
You must not host, create, share or store content that
- belongs to another person and you have no right to;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invades another person's privacy (including bodily privacy), insults or harasses on the basis of gender, is racially or ethnically objectionable, relates to money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity between groups on grounds of religion or caste with intent to incite violence;
- is harmful to children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives people about its origin, or knowingly communicates misinformation or information that is patently false;
- impersonates another person, including through AI-generated voice, images or video;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or incites an offence or prevents its investigation;
- contains a virus, malware or any code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of a computer resource;
- is an online game that is not permitted under Indian law, or advertises one;
- breaks any law in force.
You must not use Escanor to
- access, scan or test systems you are not authorised to use, or bypass access controls;
- steal credentials, run phishing, send spam, or commit fraud;
- attack, overload or disrupt Escanor, another user, or anyone's infrastructure;
- create synthetic media that passes itself off as a real person or event, or remove the AI labels Escanor adds;
- store government identifiers, health records or financial account data without a lawful need.
What happens if you do
We may remove the content, disable an integration, or suspend or close the account, and we keep removed content and records for 180 days where the law requires it for an investigation. We may report offences to the authorities as the law requires. You will be told why and can contest the decision through Grievances.
Reporting misuse
Report content or behaviour that breaks these rules on Grievances. Content showing someone's private areas or nudity, or impersonating them, is dealt with within 2 hours of a report. Report security vulnerabilities on Security.
